OldWorld Linux
UNDER CONSTRUCTION
OldWorld Macintoshes have not been supported well in linux distros for some tome now, and the problem is always that they can’t include MacOS to get BootX working, and they refuse to include miBoot since it is built with a non-free compiler.
I’ve made a collection of miboot images that will boot Ubuntu 6.06, Debian 3.1r3 and YellowDog 4.1 installers. It is assumed that you are familar with Linux already, and have some knowlege of OldWorld macintoshes.
You will need to create a HFS partition to use as a bootstrap during the setup of your distro. After you have installed your system you will need to copy miBoot, your kernel, initrd, and modified yaboot.conf to your hfs partition.
The required tools to setup the HFS partition are in the hfsutils package.
Supported:
Debian 3.1
Ubuntu 6.06 Base (Including Kubuntu, Xubuntu, Edubuntu, Ubuntu-LTSP)
YellowDog 4.1
The package is not ready for general use, but you can grab it here:
